Under surface printing
PP Acrylic and PP Hotmelt can be printed in 2 ways. On top of the PP film or “Under Surface”
Printing on top:
When printed on top, the ink is printed on the PP film. The adhesive layer is under the transparent film. To protect the printing, the printing is finished with a lacquer layer.
Under surface printing:
With Under Surface printing, the ink is printed on the bottom of the PP film. The adhesive layer goes under the printing, so that the printing is between the foil and the adhesive layer. As a result, the tape has a much longer shelf life, the printing does not transfer and the printing is durable.
Advantages of printing on top:
- affordably priced
- smaller runs possible
- faster delivery time possible
Advantages of Under Surface printing:
- printing does not transfer
- durable
- long shelf life
This type of printing was only previously possible for large quantities, but it is now available for smaller orders starting at 360 rolls, and comes in up to 3 colours
